Morrison Telecom Services and Avonline Networks continue to train the next generation of fibre engineers 15th January 2025

We’re starting 2025 by welcoming five new cohorts of engineers to our team, currently undertaking our in-house Fibre-to-the-Premise training.

Taking place at our dedicated training facilities in Risby, Thornaby, Crawley, Bristol and Leyland, our new colleagues have a mixture of experience and no experience, with transferrable skills. The training will support them to develop the skills in the installation and testing in the overhead and underground network, all to help deliver successful Fibre-to-the-Premise to homes and businesses around the UK, on behalf of our clients.

Adam Walis, who has taken part in the training, said: “ I’ve really enjoyed the training so far, we’ve had great training facilities and a fantastic instructor. I’ve also been very impressed with the tools and equipment supplied, to help me do the job.”

As we continue to attract and develop the next generation of fibre engineers, we’re pleased to have over 30 colleagues going through their Fibre-to-the-Premise training for our M Group Services Openreach SD contract.

Julie Winfield, Senior Operational Readiness Manager at Avonline, said: “ As a forward-facing business, we’re proud to kick off 2025 by continuing to create and support opportunities for emerging talent to enter the industry.

“Fibre-to-the-Premise is an in-demand skill which enhances our sector, and we are proud to be at the forefront of delivering these skills to the next generation, at our dedicated training facilities across the UK. We look forward to continuing to deliver great Fibre-to-the-Premise services.”
