Pat Carolan

Pat Carolan

Managing Director

Patrick was appointed Managing Director of Morrison Telecom Services in February 2020, having joined the Telecom Division in 2016. He has overall responsibility for the operation and performance of the telecom business with a workforce in excess of 2000 FTE.

Patrick joined MGroup Services in Nov 2002 and has considerable experience spanning over 30 years and working across the Utility and Infrastructure Sectors. He specialises in securing and delivering long term framework and Capital Programme Contracts.

Pat is a Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE) and member of the Institute of Directors.

Laura Potterton

Account Director

Laura joined Magdalene, part of the Telecom Division, as HR Director in 2014 and has subsequently undertaken a number of leadership roles across the operations and engineering arena. In 2019, Laura moved to Morrison Telecom Service and set up the Project Management Office for the governance and standardisation of all Fibre Build Programs for the business.

Following a successful secondment as Regional Director for the South, she is now responsible for our Business Development opportunities, working with our client to build long term relationships and value. She also heads up our PMO and Performance functions to drive consistency, best practice and performance across our contract delivery.

Regional Director North

Kate joined the group in 2004 and has held a number of roles across Electric, Gas and Water contracts and within the central Business Process & Systems team. Kate moved over to the Telecom Division in 2016 as General manager of the Operations centre and was then promoted in 2019 to Head of Delivery and Improvement, mobilising our ONSA contracts in the East and North West.

 

Kate continued to build on her knowledge, expertise and success within the role and was further promoted to Regional Director South in 2020 and has now taken on the North Region. Her main responsibilities are to ensure a strong and safe operational and commercial delivery across the regions and maintain an excellent relationship with OR Partner Management.

Kate has a BSc (Hons) in Regional Science and is a qualified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, and has commenced the IoD Chartered Director Programme.

Reginal Director Scotland

Darren joined MTS in August 2021 as Head of Programs for Scotland, with extensive experience in Project Delivery, Program & Change Management along with IT Systems and Processes. He was promoted to Regional Director for Scotland in May 2022, where his main responsibilities are to ensure delivery and performance across the region and to build a strong relationship with the client.

Darren comes with 25 Years experience in Telecoms Infrastructure Build, Service and Maintenance projects throughout Ireland and the UK, 23 of which working on BT & Openreach projects in Northern Ireland and Scotland.

Regional Director South

Darren has recently joined MTS as Regional Director for the South, where his main responsibilities are to ensure delivery and performance across the region and to build a strong relationship with the client. He has a diverse portfolio set across the spectrum of Operational Delivery, Stakeholder Management, Strategy Development and Logistics, which he will bring to the business.

Darren’s background is 31 years’ experience in the military, followed by 5 years’ Telecoms Infrastructure Build; working on contracts for Virgin Media, Fibre Nation, City Fibre and Openreach with a Tier 1 Contractor in the North, and more recently as Regional Director for an Alt Net in the Midlands (West) Region; delivering a full fibre broadband network in multiple towns.

Marc Statham

Regional Director East

Marc joined MGroup back in 2007, transferring to the Telecoms Division in 2016 and has over 26 years utilities experience across the gas, electric and telecoms sectors for a variety of companies, including MGroup and National Grid.

He has held a wide range of positions covering both operations & SHEQ in that time and uses this experience to manage the East region for MTS, which encompasses the East Anglia & East Midlands footprint. He is responsible for the safe delivery of all Openreach work streams, with the key focus of ensuring a good relationship with the client which, is built on a strong reputation for delivery against targets.

John Jauncey

John Jauncey

Transformation Director

John joined Morrison Telecoms Services in 2017, and has held a number of senior positions across the business. Most recently he was appointed to the role of Director of Transformation and works on challenging projects across the UK.

John has over 25 years’ experience working in the telecoms industry, having worked for BT Openreach, starting his career as one of the first BT apprentices and worked as a BT engineer for a number of years before moving into project management.

Rob Ward

Head of Shared Services

Rob joined Morrison Telecom Services in December 2021 as Head of PMO, he brings with him 20 years’ experience in the telecoms industry having previously worked for BT and Virgin Media. Before joining MTS Rob spent the last 6 years working in Virgin Media’s Network Expansion PMO working on various project, programme and change initiatives supporting the delivery of expansion. As Head of PMO at MTS Rob set the PMO up to standardise the approach across all contracts, provide analysis through reporting and drove improvements across the business.

In November 2023 Rob was promoted to Head of Shared Services where his remit has grown across PMO, Logistics, Planning and the most recent addition of Streetworks. Utilising his wider teams skills and his previous experience he has already implemented changes that has made significant cost savings to the business.

Emma Bukowska

Head of Finance

Emma joined Morrison Telecoms Services as Head of Finance in June 2023. Emma originally joined MGroup as part of the central finance team in 2008. In 2013, she went on to lead the finance team for a significant joint venture within the Energy division. Following completion of the joint venture contract in 2021, Emma took on the role of Financial Controller for Morrison Energy Services before transferring to her current role in Telecoms.

As Head of Finance, Emma will be responsible for managing the local finance team and supporting the Senior Management Team with their strategic and operational business decision making.

Emma is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Rob Hunter

Head of HR

Rob joined Morrison Telecom Services in January 2019 and is responsible for all HR activities within MTS and is an active contributor to the overall MTS Business Plan. He provides HR direction and guidance to the Morrison Telecom Services’ Executive Management Team and ensures the HR Plan supports the operational growth and aligns with the People Strategy. As a former member of the Armed Forces, Rob ensures we work hard to facilitate an environment that values and promotes our colleagues who are members of the armed forces community, and that we adhere to the values of our Gold Award in the Armed Forces Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.

Matt Hicks

Commercial Director

Matt was appointed Commercial Director Fixed Networks in April 2024 and is responsible for the Commercial Leadership of Morrison Telecom Services and Avonline Networks. Matt started with M Group Services as the Commercial Director of Avonline Networks in May 2020. He previously held senior management positions in a leading international construction and industrial services provider and has over 20 years’ experience managing project delivery and organisational strategy to successful outcomes.

Peter Tynan

Head of SHEQ (North)

Peter joined Morrisons Telecom Division, as Head of SHEQ having worked as HSEQ Director in the Construction and Utilities sectors. Peter has previously undertaken several leadership roles at a national level across a number of Telecoms and Utilities main principal contractors. Peter has been accountable for all matters relating to Health, Safety and Welfare of employees, contractors and clients who are affected by the company’s operations.

Peter has an extensive knowledge and background in complex investigation and dealing with regulators over Health and Safety matters. As head of SHEQ he drives the Safety Performance of the North team to support the Full Fibre Delivery Throughout the network.

Darren Stirrup

Head of SHEQ (South

Darren has recently joined the Telecoms Division of M Group where he heads up a team of over 20 SHEQ professionals to provide advice and support to MTS.

He has over 20 years’ experience leading health and safety teams across many sectors including construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, petrochemical and most recently telecoms.

Darren is also a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and a Practitioner member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
