Having joined Morrison Utility Services over 15 years ago, Alain’s most recent appointment as Managing Director Telecom came in January 2017. Alain has over 25 years telecom industry experience gained in the UK, Ireland and Europe. Alain is responsible for M Group Services’ Telecom division which includes Morrison Telecom Services together with Magdalene and Avonline Networks. He has a Master’s Degree in Economics and Business Administration.
Mark joined Magdalene in 2002 and in 15 years has helped oversee the company’s growth from <£5M pa to the £45M pa level today. As Managing Director he is responsible for all facets of Magdalene’s business and enjoys working with both customers and Magdalene’s management team to deliver solutions that add value to our customers and their customers alike. Prior to Magdalene he held senior UK based roles in customer relationship management for Nokia and prior to that as Finance Director for Nokia Nederlands BV based in the Hague.
Pat joined Morrison Utility Services in 2003. In March 2019 he was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Morrison Telecom Services. He has over 30 years experience working across the utility and infrastructure sector, specialising in leading large frameworks and capital programmes of work. Pat is a Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE) and member of the Institute of Directors.
Bryan joined Morrison Utility Services at the formation of the division in March 2019. Prior to this appointment Bryan has held a number of senior finance positions in the utility sector over the last 6 years, at Balfour Beatty and Veolia, and prior to this across other sectors including retail, hospitality, training, and facilities management. Bryan is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
Matt joined Morrison Utility Services in 2012 as Senior Commercial Manager and then Head of Commercial and was appointed as Commercial Director in March 2019, he has over 28 years civils and utility industry experience working for leading client contracting arms and main contractors. With a breadth of multi utility experience working on large scale projects and frameworks Matt has used both traditional and collaborative contracting arrangements, undertaking leading roles on joint ventures and alliances at pre and post contract stages.
Matt has a strong ethos in building commercial teams and governance with an honours degree in Quantity Surveying from the University of Reading and is a qualified Lean Six Sigma Black belt.
Stephen O’Brien joined Morrison Utility Services in 2017 as Client Director. Stephen has over 25 year’s telecom industry experience within product development and infrastructure in the UK and Ireland. As Client Director, Stephen is responsible for the Alternative Network Operator sector within Morrison Telecom Services. Stephen has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from UCD, MSc Engineering from UCD and BSc Engineering from Trinity College, Dublin.
Kate joined Morrison Utility Services in 2004 as a streetworks administrator and has since undertaken a number of roles across Business Process & Systems, Electric, Water and Gas contracts. She moved to join the telecoms division in 2016 as General Manager Operations Centre and has most recently been promoted to a role of Head Of Delivery & Improvement in 2019. Her main responsibilities are to ensure delivery and performance on our NEMSA contract across the Southern region and to build a strong relationship with the OR partner management team. Kate has a BSC (Hons) in Regional Science from Reading University and is a qualified Lean Six Sigma Black belt.
Chris started his career as an Officer in the RAF before taking on HR roles in the education sector and as a HR Business Partner for Marshall Motor Group. He joined Magdalene in 2016 as their HR Director and, following their acquisition by M Group Services in September 2017, he transferred to Morrison Utility Services in order to support the BT and Openreach contract. Now heading up the HR function for Morrison Telecom Services, he is responsible for shaping and delivering the Telecom people strategy.
Allen Darnell joined Morrison Utility Services in 2005 and has managed IT and business change across all utility sectors including gas, water, telecom, electricity and metering. Allen’s most recent appointment as Head of IT and Business Performance Improvement for the Telecoms Division came in October 2018. Allen is responsible for process & system development, IT infrastructure & support, research & innovation and onshore & offshore back-office operations.
Having been with Morrison Telecom Services since 2004, facilitating a wide variety of lead Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) roles that has lead him to his current position as SHEQT Director for Morrison Telecom Services. Richard is a chartered member of IOSH and has 30 years of experience operating within the utility and infrastructure sectors.
